I'm a big fan of this feather moss! I like to use it to accent herpes and invertebrate enclosures (it is currently used as the top substrate layer in enclosures for garden snails, white tree frogs, crested geckos and fire skinks). I have about half left. However, be patient and let it fully hydrate on its own. I'm used to shredding and breaking compressed coir blocks so I don't have to wait long to put them in my cases, but you won't want to do that with this one! This might sound like common sense in hindsight, but by doing this to my moss I broke it up into tiny fluffy pieces, while longer strands would definitely be easier to work with and look prettier. But live and learn! I will definitely be ordering this again to use for my pets and it does a great job of creating a nice natural 'rug' for them to walk on and helping to keep moisture in the lower layers of the substrate to keep.
