Satisfied but slightly disappointed

Received this DV yesterday, love the new international shipping options from Revain. The valve itself looks fine. But the springs look old, the paint is cracking everywhere, the quality of the paint is terrible as far as I can tell. Looking at the springs I would have thought it was used. However, the valve itself and the rest of the packaging is decent. Manufacturer's tip: Spending a little more money for a decent spring paint job sucks. Anyway, I used a wire brush and scraped off the cracked paint on the springs I was going to use and just installed them on my 1.8 ton Audi. C3. I blew on the tubes to make sure they were tight before doing anything about it and circulated some air through them. So from the start I expected it to suck. However, I've just driven my car 60 miles and I'm surprised to say it's been pretty good so far. Slightly louder than my factory Bosch valve, with a nicer "ptzzzz" sound when the throttle is off (you don't buy it for the noise anyway). At this point the CEL is off and the machine has not slowed down. I'd say it seems like it pulls harder, but it might just be my wishful thinking getting in the way. Have an OEM valve handy just in case it still works. I'll see what happens to this product if it fails quickly. I think I might just throw it away as it's so cheap and if it works the way it does now I'd say it's an absolute steal. I think I'll update this review depending on what happens. The O-rings that come with it are rubbish too. So, serious bullshit, they don't even fit.

Pros
  • Compatible with all 1998-2005 Volkswagen and Audi turbocharged 1.8t and 2.7t engines.
Cons
