Expected a little more from this 8 " wire cutter

I was looking for wire cutters up to 8" that can cut 1/8" steel cable. From what I read online I thought they would do their job but they didn't. With some effort, I just managed to break a few strands, but I couldn't cut the rope. I sent these knives back for a refund.
