Attention buyers! I bought this hub for my new MacBookPro. I used it to connect two 2TB WD Elements USB 3.0 drives. When using rsync to back up data from disk 1 to disk 2, the rsync process would throw an error (Error 22) about every minute. Also, USB 3 transfer speed seemed slow. Sometimes disk 1 would make an audible click and rsync would throw an error. After reformatting the drives and trying several rsync configuration options to no avail, I was pretty sure the problem was with one of the hard drives. But I decided to try something else: I took out the hub and plugged two drives directly into the USB ports on my MBP. I restarted the rsync backup process and like magic the errors were gone! In addition, the data transfer rate was significantly higher (approx. 100 MB/s). No more click disks either. So I'll be looking for another hub now. UPDATE: I upgraded my rating from one star to three stars because the seller contacted me ahead of time and offered a replacement. I declined, but I appreciate proactive customer service.
