*Update* After I wrote the following post, Cable Matters contacted me, helped me solve my problem, and shipped me a new unit. I am very satisfied with their service and my new center. It works very well. The USB ports work fine, but the SD card reader keeps rebooting while the memory card is inserted. I tried several memory cards and had the same problem. I ended up replacing the product with another one and encountering the same problem. Now I use the device exclusively as a USB hub and it…

This item worked fine EXCEPT it didn't work with a USB mouse.

This item worked perfectly EXCEPT it did not work with the USB mouse on the Surface 3. I returned it because that was the main reason I needed the hub. It's a nice device and if you don't need a USB mouse I would give it 5 stars.

Works well for me in computer accessories and peripherals

I've looked at many different types of SD card readers, some with USB hubs like this one. I went with this, although not a very low price compared to some others, because I was going from a laptop with easy USB and SD access to a desktop without it. I'm using an old IBM Model M keyboard and it works great with the Velcro along the top edge giving me three USB 3.0 ports and an SD card slot. USB 3.0 is MUCH faster than 2.0 so I made sure not to use a USB 2.0 hub as my new system has USB 3.0. I…

I restarted the rsync backup process and like magic the errors were gone

Attention buyers! I bought this hub for my new MacBookPro. I used it to connect two 2TB WD Elements USB 3.0 drives. When using rsync to back up data from disk 1 to disk 2, the rsync process would throw an error (Error 22) about every minute. Also, USB 3 transfer speed seemed slow. Sometimes disk 1 would make an audible click and rsync would throw an error. After reformatting the drives and trying several rsync configuration options to no avail, I was pretty sure the problem was with one of the…

A simple and well-made USB 3.0 hub with a handy SD card slot.

I use this hub on my Apple Mac Mini for easier access to the SD card port than on the back of the Mini. In addition to the three additional USB 3.0 ports, I now have easy access to the SD card port on the front. Simple and well done.
