Review on Wright Products Black Tie-Down Push Button Handle - V333BL by Jonathan Wilson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Includes a spring rather than using a separate coil spring - so easy to install!

This is a very simple screen/storm door lock replacement - keyless! - with additional latches and screws for different sizes. Installation is very easy - took about 5 minutes. for this senior - assuming you replace a bolt with the now standard hole spacing. You need to choose 2 screws from the screws included in the kit (multiple sizes) that match the thickness of your door. The hardest part of the installation is making sure you adjust the length of the bar (latches to different lengths depending on the thickness of the door) so that the latch works properly on both sides. If you do not lock the bar to the correct length, the inner handle will not lock/unlock or may not stay locked, or the outer knob may seem to lock rather than unlock. As previously mentioned, the strike plates on this set are not of the spring bar type but of the solid type; The kit includes two different height panels to accommodate all of the different types of doors and gaps that have been used in the past. You can also use it with a spring plate, but you'll have to buy it separately for a few dollars. The kit also includes two plastic spacers that allow more precise adjustment of the height of the latch used. And as mentioned above, the kit includes two different length screws to fit different door thicknesses. I give this breech kit 5 stars for one very specific feature: there is no annoying separate coil spring that is easy to lose like you would find in almost any other inexpensive breech replacement kit. Instead, the spring function is built into the outside handle. Wow, why hasn't every other manufacturer done this instead of relying on that pesky separate coil spring that so easily falls off when assembling a door lock? [I have to admit, at first I thought it was just a missing piece, but instead it was replaced with something that was actually attached to the handle. award 5 stars for this. Anyone who knows how to use a screwdriver will have no problems installing it.
