Review on 8 Inch Folding Saw - Foldable Hand Saw for Trees and Wood Cutting, Camping Saw: Folding Pruning Saw for Tree Trimming, Pruning Knife & Hunting Pocket Saw: Folding Bone Saw by Russell Robertson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

As they suggest, it really is best to cut into.

Used for the first time today while teaching my wife how to pick deadwood. Keep in mind this is my first folding saw but what happened I have my pros and cons. The upside is that when they say "durability," they mean business. I overdid it and fell on a whole 6" branch and contrary to their recommendation I sawed back and forth, it got stuck in a pinch, must have bent at least 2-3 inches. I just pulled it out, no damage, which is unusual for the saws I usually use. When folded it's small enough to fit in a small cargo pocket of my old Carhart pants, you know, diagonal shorts, and I went through a 6 inch oak tree in maybe 5 minutes. Not for or against, just chin up as they suggest it actually cuts best when pulled. Now for the downside I would like there to be a lock in the closed position or at least some tension when you pull it out if you loosen it a little it opens up The gear screw is a bit loose it was too loose when it was delivered , I tightened it 1/8 turn and it was too tight. I think it even loosened a bit when sawing, maybe a screw or pin lock would be nice to keep it where you like it. So overall? I don't regret buying a bit, is that the best? Of course not, it's very durable, works perfectly, small enough to put in your pocket. And is it worth the price? Heck yes, I'm more than happy with the price I paid and the quality, that I got.
