This set of Afghan hooks includes metric markings instead of typical letter sizes. The aluminum ones have a buoy hook, while the bamboo ones are more like a bates hook. The cords are over 3 feet long, which is ideal for large (bed-sized) afghans. I've found that some of these bamboo hooks are a bit rough - when my other bamboo hooks and knitting needles get rough from use, I rub beeswax on them. It really helped against the roughness on them - just wish they were smoother to begin with. I've also found that some of these thinner cable hooks don't connect smoothly to the cable, and the project I'm working on has trouble sliding over the cable. This is a good set for beginners, but once you're experienced it can be frustrating.
