I use this for my axolotl. It is safe for them but requires some work to install in an aquarium as it floats. I'm done about how it looks in my aquarium and I agree. Pieces will fall off. This wasn't a problem for my axolotl, but I take the strands out when I find them. Pros: - Can be used in aquariums - Looks great. It's like a lawn for animals - The size is perfect. Disadvantages: - When used in the aquarium, it floats, it has to be weighted down on all sides and in the middle - pieces fall off. Can be swallowed by pets.
