I use this transformer in the United States to power an Italian Rancilio coffee maker and an Askaso grinder. It has enough power to deal with both at the same time. The transformer works in both directions. Just make sure the correct input voltage is selected on the rear panel. Conclusion: I have been using this transformer daily for a year. Sometimes it's on all day. I turn it on and off with a switched outlet. Make sure that the load is not switched on, otherwise current peaks can occur that can damage the transformer, the switchable plug or connected devices. The transformer design is very durable.
