I bought this monitor along with RX 480 and i7-4790K for games like Doom, Deus Ex MD, CS:GO, Metro Redux and many more. After playing a few I found that the guide I saw on YouTube seemed correct. 16:9 is best for gaming (my monitor is an Acer 27" 2560x1440 monitor). I can't really see or enjoy the monitor's peripherals. Maybe it would be better if it were curved. That's what it's for This monitor is two browsers open side by side with no horizontal scrollbars and the text is readable from 4 feet away (with my old eyes) The great thing is that I can have an open VM on the left that I'm penetration testing and an open browser on the right where I can research I don't have a center distraction strip and I don't have to look very far to see (as I do with dual 1080p monitors) I have optimized the monitor for this type of work, with gaming as a secondary consideration. The monitor is pretty good and the text isn't as bad, although not quite as good as my 25" Acer IPS monitors. The monitor is now to 75 H z set and FreeSync. All games run pretty well, even if the peripherals for M enja. I'm also looking forward to trying out video editing on this monitor. Seems like a nice long timeline would make it perfect.
