We used it as a heater for our chickens. It was absolutely great for about 2 or 3 weeks. We left it on for the first 2 weeks to keep the chicks at the right temperature. All the time everything was great. Then by week 3 we started turning the lights off during the day when it was warm enough and they had natural light. Some days the switch on the cord got a little warm. Then it got significantly warmer for about 3 days. And then one day, when the lamp was off, something happened and the switch stopped clicking. It just wouldn't turn on and it looked like it had melted or something. Which was confusing because it was off when it happened. We turned it off just a few hours earlier and it clicked as usual and everything was fine. Then it broke. Now it's just a paperweight and I'm very disappointed. I will try to return the money.
