I usually connect 2 USB 3.0 external hard drives to it as well as a laptop fan cooler. The buttons work great, this hub powers any USB device like fans and lights without connecting the main USB 3.0 cable to the laptop. The lights that indicate that a device is on only come on if it's a device that requires a laptop to read properly, such as a laptop. B. an external hard drive. So when you press the USB fan cooler button, the lights don't turn on, which is fine with me, they turn on for important things you might say. I've used it a few times and it's worked great, but there's something cheap about it. This is because the main connector of the 3.0 USB cable connects to it by protruding slightly on the left side (I hope that makes sense) but still maintains a good connection. Also, the power connector doesn't take up the entire connector, so a few mm of the connector sticks out. This makes me feel like the hardware inside isn't perfectly positioned or assembled. This can only be the case with the product I received. I didn't notice any difference in speed when I connected a 3.0 USB external hard drive directly to my laptop's 3.0 USB port or through this hub, so I'm assuming it's working quite well. Overall I'm satisfied, but have some doubts about the durability. Edited for long-term observations.
