Much Much better now

Revised review:I wrote my original review (below) in October, 2021. During that period, COVID-19 was burning through populations around the world. Factories were shutting down, supply chains were disrupted, and customer service functions were severely effected by staff illnesses and operational closures. These problems crosscut all sectors of economies around the world. In a micro view, GoTrax was apparently effected as much as any other business.I say this because my first GoTrax G Pro, which I received from revain in October, 2021, had problems (see original review, below). When I attempted to address these problems with GoTrax, I was unable to make contact, which is why I returned the scooter. Now that things are returning to (somewhat) normal operations, I was contacted by the good folks at GoTrax. They have undergone what appears to be a major top-down operational overhaul. The GoTrax staff were very concerned that I'd had a bad experience, and wanted to make it right with me. They provided me with a replacement G Pro, which I am now evaluating in this review.I have thoroughly inspected and test ridden the scooter, and have found it to be flawless. I paid close attention to the areas of concern that I listed previously relative to the original unit, and found that these issues did not exist with the new unit. I did find that the cables passed in front of the headlight, as with the original unit, but I was able to loosen the left control set, move it inward (toward the tiller) and gather enough cable slack to allow me to re-route the cables over the top of the headlight. Problem solved. This was a minor issue, easily resolved with a small adjustment.The brakes are quiet on this replacement unit, and are very effective. I weigh 195 pounds, and I found the disc brakes stopped the scooter from full speed in a very short distance, with no squealing.For reasons that I cannot discern, the rear suspension is not as harsh as the first unit's was. As such, the scooter was much less harsh on uneven surfaces. The pneumatic tires and the rear springs made the ride pretty smooth on normal sidewalk and road surfaces.All the hardware was installed properly. The fit and finish of the unit was perfect. This unit, unlike the original, had a QC (Quality Control) sticker applied to the deck. The presence of this QC sticker, in conjunction with the fact that the unit passed inspection on all levels, suggests that GoTrax has rectified the issues that plagued my first G Pro, and is taking Quality Control seriously.Perhaps the most important new development has been the fact that GoTrax is now accessible for customer support. I was contacted out of the blue by Lynette, who is apparently located in China. She reached out to me and wanted to ensure that I was satisfied after having had a bad experience with the original scooter. She arranged for the replacement, and tracked with me through the process. Her involvement made all the difference, and changed my impression of GoTrax. Good job, Lynette!Knowing that I was going to write this second review, I took my investigation one step further, and found the United States contact information for GoTrax. I have included a screen shot of their location and Customer Service telephone number in a photo inserted below. The staff at the Texas facility explained to me that GoTrax has redoubled their customer service efforts. I was able to speak to a live person within moments after calling their Customer Service line.All-in-all, it appears to me that GoTrax now has their poop in a group. The G Pro is built like a tank.rock solid. As was the case with the first unit I received, the welds, paint, fit & finish are all top quality. The little gremlin problems that I had with the first unit have been resolved. Most importantly, GoTrax is now present and available for customer support.with live people.either through e-mail or a telephone call. This makes all the difference.I like second chances, and I'm giving GoTrax theirs. I have changed my original rating of 2 Stars to a perfect 5 Star rating. They went above and beyond to repair their relationship with me, and I am confident that they are serious about this. I can now highly recommend this G Pro scooter, and GoTrax.Here is the original review:Great concept, poor executionIf you are considering dropping almost $1000 on this, after taxes, please take the time to read this detailed review. I know it's long, but it's proportional to the cash outlay.Although I had high hopes when I ordered this scooter, I was very disappointed when it arrived. I took a chance buying it, despite having read multiple unfavorable reviews that indicated poor build quality and lack of customer support. Since receiving the scooter, I have had an opportunity to inspect it, and ride it. These are my findings.While assembling it, I noticed that a couple of the screw holes had damaged paint, which indicated that the scooter had been assembled, at least partially, prior to its arrival at my home. In conjunction with that, I noticed that the odometer registered 9/10 mile, suggesting that the scooter had been ridden prior to coming into my possession. I doubt that these things occurred as a result of post-production testing. I could have stopped there, but I continued to explore.The end-user assembly was easy. The components are rock solid, although the production assembly was poor. The brake cables were poorly routed, and obscured the headlight. The cable routing is so tight that this misrouting is not easily rectified. After making an initial attempt to adjust the cable placement, I abandoned that idea. I was concerned that I would create another problem.Test riding the scooter revealed more problems. Acceleration and braking were adequate. However, the brakes (particularly the rears) squalled terribly when actuated. There was apparently no Quality Control (QC) performed on this system. This noise left me wondering if there was an assembly or design problem. Again, I did not invest any time into attempting to repair or adjust the brakes.Some of the reviews that I read indicated that there were substantial problems with the rear suspension. This concerned me prior to ordering.so much so that I made a point to call revain prior to ordering to ensure that I would be able to return the scooter without penalty if I found it to be unacceptable. The gracious revain staff informed me that I could return it if needed, as the order was being fulfilled directly by revain.While test riding the scooter, I quickly learned that the rear suspension has no rebound damping. The rear suspension consists of not much more than two coil springs. This scooter weighs over 50 pounds. I weigh 195 pounds. When riding over anything but the smoothest of surfaces, the un-dampened rebounding of these two heavy coil springs caused the scooter deck to rebound sharply, pounding the bottoms of my feet, and sending shock impulses into my legs and back. My feet still hurt, two days after riding only 4 miles.Having read reviews that documented rear suspension failures, not the least of which was fastener hardware falling off and allowing the springs to come away from their moorings, I flipped the scooter over to inspect the rear end. In doing so, I noticed that of the two main bolts that tie the rear suspension together, one was missing a washer (see photo). I also noticed that one of the rear brake cables had a terminal lug in place (to prevent the cable from retreating from its mooring), and the other did not. Again, poor QC in assembly.Although these issues may, at first blush, seem trivial, I believe that they are at least emblematic of a lack of QC in the assembly process, and may be contributing factors to some of the failures that I read about in the reviews.If you are considering this scooter because the idea of having three wheels as opposed to two suggests an increase in stability, then you should reconsider. The twin rear wheels precludes the need for a kickstand, but in no way that I could discern makes the scooter any more stable. To the contrary, the camber shift that the rear wheels demonstrate when leaning makes the platform less stable and less predictable (IMO).Regarding the other reviews' comments on unsatisfactory customer service, I have this. I found no way to contact GoTrax other than via e-mail. I sent them an e-mail inquiry on October 4th, and have received nothing other than an automated reply stating that they received my inquiry. Had I intended to keep this scooter, this lack of responsiveness would be troubling.Here's the bottom line: this is a great design, with some very good ideas incorporated. The welds are nice, and the components are very good. The plan goes south with the execution. The factory assembly is problematic. Compounding the felony is the fact that it appears that the unit that I received may have been a return, possibly refurbished, repackaged, and shipped out to me: an unsuspecting consumer. I can't prove it, but that is what it looks like to me.The world is full of scooters to choose from. If you feel like rolling the dice, then try one of these three-wheelers. Or, you could take a chance on one of the many other options that cost much, much less. At least if you get a lemon, you won't have paid a grand for it.I'm returning this scooter to revain.Peace
