Review on πŸ” Dorman 911-080 Vent Solenoid for Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC Models - Vapor Canister by Paul Bijeaux

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Flashlight, thin flat-head screwdriver, 1/2-inch socket wrench

When money's tight, that last photo the dirt I banged out of the machine is worth an hour if the work can distract you for a while . Feet forward over the truck. Pull the metal tab 1st photo, remove the wiring from the back. Press on the back of the fill tube (3rd photo) and/or pull out the shaker block. Flip horizontally and tuck under cab, remove 1/2" screw on bracket. Rotate the block between cab and body (block up). The next part cost me 3 good tries. (Photo 2) The joint has a hard plastic ring at the base that needs to be clamped. Insert the device (using both hands) into the slot, then press the ring's pinch points and then move the device up and out. turn it around Insert the new block into the slot placed horizontally under the cab and it was easier for me to insert the tab from the start and slide it over the block while I bolted it down. You have a guide pin (5th photo) to align the bolt. Then reconnect the electrical quick connector on the back. When reassembling, do not keep it between the bed and the cabin and put it on the bracket. It is not clear to shoot on the spot. Don't tie it out of laziness. It has a vent side (mud blockages) and angle to minimize this and drainage. Mine was an OEM and was 18 years old.
