I sold a Subaru that had a Noaa radio and really miss it. I don't want to put my iPhone & co. in my armpit, so I just stick it in my cup holder to get the weather forecast every now and then and I'm perfectly happy. Loud enough to hear. It is convenient to adjust the volume with the up or down arrow keys. It features an extended 6-inch antenna that doesn't interfere with the radio when the engine is running. I also tried my Ccrane Observer and used an audio cable from the headphone jack to the forearm jack and the Nooa connects directly to my car's stereo. Haven't damaged anything yet and if it still works I'll buy another CCrane. You can't go wrong with the portable Midland. I just ordered a portable model with the same adapter and will see how it works as many are complaining about the adapter. Update 6/12/15: This is a great portable weather radio. I've had it in my car with lithium batteries since I bought it and haven't changed them yet and the radio works great. Those are real 5 stars. Live in the Northeastern United States where it's snowing and hot. Tonight it started raining heavily and a tornado warning, I pulled over and turned off the radio.
