The USB ports on my laptop are not working. With one port broken and only another available, I kept getting into situations where I had to swap out one USB device for another. Not only did this solve the problem, but the color and material matched the rest of my laptop almost perfectly. I've occasionally used another external USB hub with this computer, but the size of the USB port and cable just made it too bulky. and uncomfortable to carry, and it constantly interfered with the power connector, which is located next to the USB port. This device also solves this problem. It's even small enough to fit everything in my laptop bag without first unplugging the hub. I can't say as I use the hub's rotation feature quite a lot, but it would definitely come in handy if you use it with an external Wi-Fi or Bluetooth dongle. Although there are no special conditions for using the device as an external USB charger, the BIOS and operating system settings in Windows allow me to configure the actual USB port to control the power output during sleep and when the computer is turned off. The hub does not block any of these functions. It simply extends the functionality to four ports instead of one.
