I know 3M (Scotch), VSM, Klingspor or maybe other well known brands will do. I am particularly disappointed with the "Roloc" grinding wheels. I keep hoping to find a better price from another brand and I keep finding things I already knew... Paying 3x for 10x. Don't skimp, you're wasting your money. Buy good ones and treat them well as an investment and you will be satisfied. With that in mind, let me digress: I bought a battery-powered Milwaukee M12 grinder to supplement my compressed air when the airlines were otherwise forced to use it as a backup machine. It became my staple FAST. I've been using it as my main grinder for about two years! It should be used with 2.0 or 3.0Ah batteries (not the standard 1.5Ah batteries) as these quickly deplete lower capacity batteries. If you are using those 2 inch discs I highly recommend trying this straight grinder. It has slightly less continuous power than a pneumatic one (if it were a welder, 90% duty cycle) but is much more versatile and easier to use as there is no air line! If you want to increase the "duty cycle" to 90%, I have found that using two 3Ah batteries will overheat and require a short break. If you alternately use three 2Ah batteries, the battery will be discharged before it overheats. Exceptionally high capacity batteries and this tool from Milwaukee AND branded pads you know and trust will make your sharpening experience enjoyable.
