I bought a small version of this toy for my Quaker parrot in November. Quakers love to tear things up and my daughter loved this toy! After only two months it was largely destroyed. I think I bought this toy when it was on sale because I can't believe I spent over $10 on a small parrot toy (that's the current price) when I know they've been selling toys like this for a very long time ruptured for a few months. I wouldn't buy it again at this price but I would definitely buy it if it were on sale again! The material doesn't become stringy when shredded, so I believe the risk of accidental choking is minimal, but I would still remove any torn pieces just in case.
