It's a beast!

Go back 15 years and I was trying to figure out automotive relays. I didn't understand them or this particular product. But four years later I installed a Viper alarm on a 1995 Subaru Legacy and this product caught my attention when I was figuring out how to install a dome light controller (requires a relay). I switched to a DEI 8616, bought one, and then for some reason (I honestly don't remember) used a standard "big" (physically) Bosch relay instead. And it was lying there in the trash can. expectation. This year I had to do a little rewiring - add side markers to this Subaru Legacy - and control the lights the way I wanted with the necessary relays. For example four (don't ask, just trust me). And two more to get an integration with Viper signaling (due to some lighting features). And then there was that "big relay” from lap 1 that sat under the dash. That's a lot of relays (7), lots of weight, lots of space, and there will be "big relays" connectors. less than ideal and add more. 7 of them, on the other hand, are quite compact. Since relays are more convenient these days, I chose DEI 8616 for all of them. This includes ripping out an unused, perennial parts bin. They work like magic. Barring a specific need, I'll probably never use a 'big' relay again. The only thing that will make me stop using DEI 8616 is if I find something even smaller ;)
