Review on Gizmo Dorks Bronze Filament: Advanced Additive Manufacturing Products for Printers by Ron Turner

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Filament diameter

This filament was clogging my 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8mm nozzles (tried and tested brass nozzles, but mostly my nozzles and hardened steel) with my E3D hot ends on straight and bowden feed printers. (E3Dv6 with Bowden and CR10 upgraded with Titan Aero) I have to point out that it must be mixed metal, I've never had this problem with other metal threads. Thought I'd like to try this for the price. It works great for the first part of the print, looks really nice but suddenly clogs the printer. Not only is it a force feed to pull it out or heat the nozzle more, I had to remove the nozzles and heat them with a flame to force the piano string through and clear the blockage. Unfortunately this damaged the heat of my E3Dv6. break by somehow placing the filament/metal flake toward the colder end of the break. I've spent several hours extracting this filament from hot ends and would simply recommend looking elsewhere for a more expensive metal blend filament with a proven consistency. Width seems to be a consistent 1.69-1.71 compared to most other threads at 1.74-1.76; While this isn't very good, it's a constant width that can easily be accounted for. Again, it works fine for small prints, but when used beyond 2 meters (usually where it works) it clogs. Although it looks really nice. It also sticks easily.

Pros
  • Compatible with most 3D printers like Monoprice Maker Select, Lulzbot, Flash Forge and many more.
Cons
  • No Power
