I use this to measure TDS in my water as I have a filter system for that. It was already accurately calibrated when I received it. It is well packaged, very easy to use and read. Being a science teacher at HS for many years, I've had a lot of cheap crappy equipment and this one is VERY good and well made. It comes in a very nice molded case. it will withstand some abuse. Very good value for money for a well-made device. Don't skimp on cheapness when measuring something like this. a margin of 1% is much better than a higher margin of error, especially for TDS filtration systems. Also, reading the color of the wand sucks. This is probably fine for a hot tub or pool, but not for something else like a water filtration system or water quality studies. This would be a great addition to an environmental science department in any school or college.
