I just hooked up a display to my 2017 15" MBP. I sold my 2015 iMac to purchase this monitor and run my Macbook as the driver. My initial setup was to run a single USB-C cable from the MacBook Pro to the monitor. I was a bit disappointed with the ghosting and screen quality compared to the Retina iMac. Then I thought let's try HDMI as I had a 30Hz key. It made a big difference. I still have USB C connected so I can use the screen as a hub but also HDMI. I chose the screen for HDMI. It looks much better in HDMI and has no lag or ghosting. I ordered Belkin USB-C to HDMI 60Hz and hope for further improvements.I will update in a few weeks. For now I'm glad I made the change. If I only use USB-C I'd probably send it back and myself choose something else. UPDATE: I've been using a Belkin USB-C to HDMI 2.0 dongle for almost a week now. Along with USB-C. I have 4k and 60Hz. The monitor powers my MBP 15" with 100 watts. tt for power. The colors and screen quality are top notch. I love the adjustments. If it were 5k at that price I would give it 5 stars. But a week later, I say i love it i got rid of the lag when using usb-c vs hdmi i had a little problem connecting another mbp the lag was everywhere at the time i have the dell menu on factory reset reset and everything works fine With both HDMI and USB-C I'll give it another week or so and if nothing changes I'll upgrade it to 5 stars.
