At first I had trouble with it. By attaching it to an old Moroccan tin lantern. The trick is to apply it in small amounts to small areas. Apply as evenly as possible and then allow to dry completely. Do not continue rubbing while it is being applied. I also bought gold and when it was done it was too light. Then I bought Iced Espresso and applied it over the gold. Wow! Amazing results. Gold shines through ice-cold espresso and creates the authentic look of real brass. That's exactly what I wanted! Once everything is completely dry THEN you can lightly buff the whole thing for even more shine. Another tip; Dip an old sock in the pod and smear it all over the inside of the lid. In other words, turn the lid over and spread the product all over the inside of the lid. Then dip your sock in IT as needed. It seems to work better than dipping straight into the product's capsule itself.
