Review on Plate Magnetic Stirrer Mixer Control by Jerry Frey

I bought this product for my child's science fair project. It's generally "good enough" for the money, although I'd like to share other reviewers' concerns that this product is poor at regulating/maintaining temperature - at least in cold temperatures. My daughter had to keep the temperature of the liquid at around 45°C. A rheostatic temperature controller is incapable of maintaining a temperature close to room temperature. My daughter had to turn the burner on and off about every five minutes to maintain the temperature, which meant her solution was closer to 45C +/- 2C with manual intervention. She turned it off when the temperature of the liquid reached 45°C and turned it on again when it dropped to 43°C. For this reason I'm giving this product 4 stars instead of 5. It did what it was supposed to do, at a low price. If it cost more, or if it was needed for a one-off project, I'd probably lower the rating given its inability to maintain the set temperature at 45C on its own.
