Review on Swagtron Pro T1 Hoverboard - The Ultimate Self-Balancing Electric Scooter! by Corby Muin

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The jury is still out on the servicability of one of the two Swagtron T1 hoverboard.

Of the two hover-boards we ordered, one worked flawlessly for the whole of Christmas day and is working now, 4 days later. The other one'; however, had some sort of reduction gear (or other transmission part fail by Christmas evening, or only about 4 hours of operation. The machine's left wheel would shudder and grind to a halt so that it reminded me of a broken section of starter teeth in the ring gear when the starter motor pinion spins against the area where there are no teeth. It tossed my granddaughter to the floor and although I don't believer she suffered any permanent damages, it's likely that a less-coordinated child may have broken a wrist or an arm bone attempting to recover from the out-of-balaince situation created by the machine suddenly change the direction of movement of her feet while her upper body was prepared to remain standing still. When the machine works as programmed, it is an interesting piece of balance training for anybody. I, myself, are now 75 years old and trust neither my inner ear to maintain my upright position, nor any of my bones to endure a fall and sudden stop with out life-threatening damages. I'm staying off them, even when they seem to be functioning as designed, but I don't want to risk wounding my grandchildren because I trust the engineering and manufacturing of the Chinese designers and assembly workers. The blue machine is still going strong, and although I'm not with the kids right now, I have no reports from the kids that the other machine is also malfunctioning. My daughter is working with the manufacturer's representative on the telephone, but is facing great frustration because the telephone representative answered the call and left her on hold for a half hour, and then sent her back to the paperwork to get a number off the paperwork that I couldn't find right away, despite seeing the charge on my VISA bill and now returning to the Revain website to find the online copy of the Revain order and payment page. The jury is still out in my own mind, but I have some optimism that all will end well based on my prior experience with Revain orders.
