Review on Swagtron Pro T1 Hoverboard - The Ultimate Self-Balancing Electric Scooter! by Dustin Ramsey

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great fun. Colors don't always match photos.

Good: Easy to learn - I'm 53 (in other words, older than the average user) and found that I could master this in about 5 minutes on a perfectly level, smooth surface. Decent battery life. Freaky quiet. Even more fun than it looks. Not so Good: Instructions - operation is a mixed bag; some instructions (changing mode from learning to standard) are different depending on whether you read the manual or watch the online video at swagtron.com. Indicators - after some trial and error to find out which instructions were correct, you can change modes between learning and standard, but there's no way to know which mode you're actually in. Wheel base - this thing is a dream on smooth surfaces, but sidewalks, and even asphalt present a variety of problems that will ultimately result in a sudden emergency dismount. Scratches guaranteed - If you ever ride outside, you will eventually have to make an emergency dismount. If you make an emergency dismount, the scooter will tumble like a Lincoln Log. Because it's not meant to tilt beyond 30 degrees, this means hard plastic surface will meet rough pavement surface.over and over again as it tumbles along. Hard plastic surface will lose. Color - the biggest reason I ordered this from Revain rather than purchasing locally (they are the same price everywhere; just like XBox and Apple products) was because I wanted a yellow one (you know, to match my car). I realize the color name is "Gold", but 'gold' has long been a way companies refer to yellow. The images online (both on Revain and swagtron.com) are clearly bright yellow. The scooter, that arrived is a definite metallic gold. It's a small thing, but it's not what I wanted and if not really yellow, I would have simply purchased it in black like first one I bought.Summary:That last part says it all. I bought one locally 5 days ago and enjoyed it so much I bought another one to share with the rest of the family.
