Review on πŸšͺ Kwikset 97300-829 Juno Privacy Knob, 1-Pack, Satin Nickel Finish by Gregory Plump

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good redesign of door handles if you don't care about visible screw heads (on one side of the door)

I decided to use all the polished brass lamps to be replaced indoors with satin nickel. I chose Kwikset because I decided to renew all exterior door key fittings with Kwikset. I was aiming for a consistent finish, but it probably wouldn't have mattered much if I had chosen a different supplier. There are several options in the Kwikset line, but I was looking for something modern or contemporary. This pretty much limited him to Juno and Tylo. Personal acquaintance with them ruled out Tylo for me (it just looked a bit cheap). Basically, I'm happy with the design. The materials and finishes seem well chosen and executed. The installation takes a few minutes. It helps if you tighten the capscrews almost to the level needed to assemble the two halves together as this will greatly reduce the amount of tightening required after the halves are assembled. I wrapped masking tape around the screwdriver to avoid damaging the finish of the handle. I didn't find them particularly cheap having bought over 20 of these (big house) but there are clear indications of a price point. In particular, there are exposed screw holes. It's not the end of the world, and you can certainly find more expensive doorknobs to hide if that's important to you. Installation is easy and only takes a few minutes.

Pros
  • The door handle has a universal direction and can be fitted on both right and left doors
Cons
  • There are nuances
