I bought these legs to upgrade my Ikea Söderhamn. There is a lot of conflicting information online and in many places 5/16 and M8 are interchangeable. These threads are not interchangeable. Luckily, the threaded bolts on these legs are very easy to remove and replace. If you buy them for Ikea furniture, they will not fit without modification. I'm a locksmith by trade which means I have all the tools to measure and thread and I can tell you with certainty that this is a true 5/16 thread and will need to be modified to an M8 thread fit what is possible found in Ikea furniture. . I knew that when I bought them. These legs are made from good quality wood, but the finish is what you would expect for $25. I painted them with a coat of Helmsman Spar Clear Gloss Urethane, which leaves no brush marks, and added a tremendous amount of depth, color, and gloss that really brings out the wood texture without sanding. In about 30 minutes, they went from $25 legs to $100 custom legs.
