This is an OEM pump replacement. It will probably survive the car. If you do the work yourself, it will not be easy. But for a shade tree mechanic like me, it's perfectly within reach. Be sure to purchase a new snap ring and fuel line clamps. A major problem you may encounter is when replacing the wiring harness. Old cables may not have the same connector type and will need to be replaced. Although the pump came with instructions and diagrams for the new wiring, none of the options shown matched mine. I went with what was closest and correctly deduced which wire went where. Be careful with this part, you may need to consult the manual. I also managed to break the gas tank strap attachment. This is a dealer part and had to be ordered from GM for $25. Make sure they sell you a nut that comes at the end. My 20 year old veteran GM parts salesman forgot to tell me the nut was not included.
