I bought this as a cheaper "thermal cover" for my Yoder smoker. I am very impressed with the thickness and quality of the weld overlay. This significantly reduces pellet consumption and also helps the smoker heat up more easily and maintain the temperature. The OEM thermal cover is $250, so it wasn't an easy alternative. I took some strong magnets to hold it in place and I'm done. Can't tell what it's for, but for the pellet smoker it works great!
