Full synthetic filter with filter (glass fiber instead of cellulose I think), well made. The filter material is wire mesh (all plastics should be wire mesh as they are not rigid). Suitable for advanced OCIs. Filter specifications are published, which in itself is a differentiator. I follow a simple rule: if there are no published specs, I refuse to use them. Vague marketing claims like "this is best eaten after sliced bread" are useless to me. I say: Show me the money (i.e. properties). In other words, this is one of the best filters money can buy, a completely different product from the much-maligned (orange) budget Fram-s. Restricts oil flow much less, filters much better (e.g. 99% at 20 microns) and has a much higher dirt holding capacity than traditional filters. This (and sometimes Mobile 1) is all I use for our 3 ICE vehicles. I actually only change the filter every other oil change because the filter is rated for 3x the mileage of my OCI. Filter performance does not degrade as the filter ages, unless the rated dirt holding capacity is exceeded. At this point, the filter becomes clogged and often begins to be bypassed. My point is that as long as the filter isn't clogged, it will filter just as well or even better than a new one.
