Like other users I bought this for my hamster to replace another sand I used to buy from another manufacturer that is no longer offered by Revain. It is light brown, almost slightly peachy in color. I took one of those simple plastic noodle pots and filled it halfway with this sand and put it in my Syrian's cage and he immediately accepted it. He loved digging in it and riding in it. It didn't stick to his fur at all and I noticed he kept it clean. Although he started going to the toilet in it. It clumps up and I have a small spoon which makes it very easy to clean, but I can only imagine the horrors of using it on reptiles. I dumped the sand every two weeks, scooped up and added a little every two weeks. It took me 5 months. I will definitely keep buying it for my hamster! It is much safer for hamsters as it is not dusty like chinchilla sand.
