Pop & Lock Powered Tailgate Lock PL8510 for Toyota Tacoma I didn't want to pay $100 for this lock, I thought it was too expensive. (I was wrong) You can buy drives for $5 on Amazon. a picture of a padlock and lock I saw online and my 1997 Toyota Tacoma for my drawing. First I made a layout on cardboard and then transferred the drawing to steel. I spent the weekend with the project and got very close to it. Maybe it worked. The fit was very snug and Amazon reviews said the pop & lock construction was also very snug which should have been top notch. There was no room for error. I also had some questions that I couldn't answer without seeing the click and latch in my hands. If I wanted to finish what I made, I would have to spend another half day on it. To save $100 I abandoned my project and bought a Power Lock. It arrived in 2 days and fits perfectly. It's a complex design and her fit was top notch. I can appreciate all the markings and bugs that had to "pop and block" to develop this design. They did a great job even when someone had the right tools and equipment. To make cuts and bends, punch square holes for the push bar, it's not worth your time when you can buy that for $100. It's a deal!
