lays down like butter

This gray Polymax PLA is one of the best PLAs I've ever used. I've tried Hatchbox, Sunlu, Tech Bear, Geetech and a few others and this definitely fits. I use and end 3 v2 at 207 degrees with a 55 degree bed. Retract set to 5mm at 45mm/s and 27mm/s with 0.2mm nozzle. The detail of my D&D miniatures is amazing. I love the quality of the resin. After you adjust your settings, it has a slight stretch, leaves minimal layer lines, and is slightly more flexible than PETG and feels more durable than ABS. The only downside is that after a few weeks of use, it starts to absorb moisture. Drying in a Sunlu dryer helps a little, but the older the material gets, the harder it is to work with. All this to say that I also tried black and it was much more difficult to work with than roof tar. I ended up typing it with a 0.4mm nozzle, so not all colors can work the same way. It also works well for large prints with a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height. Strangely, I had to lower the temp to 202 when using the 0.4mm nozzle.

Pros
  • 3D printing filament
Cons
  • wrinkled
