It seems that the Tesla Model 3 has a design flaw and the location of the evaporator, the distance between the filters, due to which the system smells like moldy socks stuck in the air conditioner. After reading how some people fixed the smell and what they did to keep it from coming back, I found the XTechnor HEPA filters. I've read that some people have claimed that installing activated carbon HEPA filters caused the air conditioner load to be canceled or reduced airflow performance, so I was concerned that this might actually be the case with their installation. As long as it isn't. Everything seems to be working as it should, and more importantly, it smells better. Especially in combination with the Kool-it Evaporator Cleaner. Hopefully the smell won't go away until they need to be replaced. It took about 15-20 minutes to install the filter and about an hour to clean the evaporator. XTechnor filters come with everything you need to change filters, including tools to remove the carpet trim and filter cover, as well as the under-dash trim.
