Review on Enhanced Orange Printer Filament: Uncompromised Dimensional Accuracy by Mike Walters

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very good nylon but be careful with Revain.

Alloy 910 is an extremely strong and durable material. Of course it has to be dried, it's nylon. Currently, after some tweaking, I can easily print this footage on the Ender 3 Pro's open bed without margins or distortion. I print at 270°C on a nozzle, layer 55 and a layer of Magigoo PA on a Garolite plate bonded to a borosilicate glass plate. I use an all metal MicroSwiss hot end. The secret, if there is one, is that this stuff dries out. If you browse Thingiverse, you'll find all sorts of prints designed to turn a food dehydrator into a dryer you can print from. I overspent mine and it cost less than $100. Dry the thread at 70ºC for 12 hours. Especially if you bought it here how do I get there. After that, either serve it with a dryer and seal it any way you can, or put it straight into an airtight container with a good desiccant and seal it. Jet. You will see bubbles on the thread while it is still wet. In my opinion it's worth a bit of effort (although Polymakers CoPA will probably replace it for me), but I have to warn you, buy direct from Taulman. I bought 2 rolls of Revain and both had unsealed pouches and the spools were horribly loose. Enough that I have to keep an eye on the coil while typing so it doesn't get stuck anywhere. Both were wet when I received them. The spool I bought direct wound perfectly, sealed tightly and seemed dry (although I always dry spools before printing). I have no idea WHY this is, but just pay attention.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
