Review on CableCreation USB 3.0 Hub with Ethernet Adapter - 3 Port Gigabit πŸ”Œ 10/100/1000 Mbps, Compatible with Windows PC, Laptop, MacBook Pro, USB Flash Drives, Aluminum Black by Bryan Orozco

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great except mine doesn't work well with the Logitech mouse/keyboard receiver

Looks and feels good. Ethernet works great. Works with flash drives and external drives (my external drive requires 1/2 amp and 5 amps are available for all devices connected to the hub). The only problem is my Logitech mouse/keyboard receiver. Both the mouse and keyboard have pauses of up to 5 seconds when the mouse isn't moving and the keyboard isn't typing. At first I thought it was a receiver or battery issue so I switched to another Logitech receiver and replaced the batteries but the same issues persisted. I then tried different ports on the hub, but the same problems persisted. Finally, I connected the Logitech receiver to the same (and only) USB port on my HP Specter x360 (15") laptop and everything worked fine. It's clear that the problem is in the hub. I have the manufacturer A CableCreation representative told me that USB 3.0 technology does not work well with USB 3.0 The exact wording was that we learned that USB 3.0 would interfere with 2.4 GHz wireless devices, including Bluetooth. There is no perfect solution to avoid this based on current technology. See attached file for help. I hope USB-IF will fix this shortcoming one day. I read the Intel paper and it talks about interference, but I never encountered the interference described.I tried connecting a cheap Anker 4-port hub ($10) to a Logitech receiver and had no problems.A spokesman for CableCreation later stated that two Anker's reviews also mentioned problems with Logitech and Microsoft receivers. Looks like she's right. At this point I would say that if you don't use it with a wireless keyboard/mouse it's a good choice. If you plan to use it with any of these devices, you should consider other options.

Pros
  • Big Expansion
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
