Review on πŸ”₯ Silver Arc Zippo 65828 Lighter Insert by Dandy Sulley

I miss the smell of fuel, but I'm not worried if it evaporates when I need it to work

Pretty cool. I always keep a lighter in my emergency kit along with a knife and a first aid kit. The problem with transporting a Zippo with fuel is that the fuel will evaporate after a week or 10 days. I'm not sure how safe it is, but it's strange to me that the fuel evaporates so quickly. So when I saw an opportunity to upgrade the detonator I decided to give it a try. There isn't much delay in firing, except that I noticed that you have to press the button twice to activate the device. I assume this is a safety feature to prevent accidental fire. Once activated, it emits a low hum and burns materials just as quickly, if not faster, than regular flames. The weird thing that maybe only I find interesting is that the wind affects the plasma as it moves the electrons around. Nothing too hard. But noticeable. It will not turn off the detonator. If I had one complaint, I wish the pins were longer and stick out a little higher so you don't have to tip the device into something you're lighting. I assume this is another safety feature to avoid damaging the metal finish of the case. No more messy refueling. Works when I need it without worrying about the fuel evaporating after 10 days. The plasma igniter is accurate. It fits tighter, squeezing it in and out of a lighter shell. Tighter than fuel usage. However, interchangeability with standard cases allows you to carry multiple lighters for different needs with different looks. I took out the insert from the imitation wood Zippo lighter and put it in. I miss the cool Zippo hole where you light it up with two quick, effective movements. Security requires two button presses to turn on. I may and may be wrong, but it seems a bit safer for young children than a lighter, which can continue to burn if left open. I miss the smell of gasoline. I found it relaxing when massive panic attacks hit me.

Pros
  • 10 second pause function
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
