Review on 💧 ACDelco GT330 GM Original Equipment Fuel Tank Cap: Ensuring Optimal Fuel System Performance by Dustin Miller

Perfect solution to my code P0442 with engine gauge on

I bought this OE gas cap for my 08 Yukon Denali. My check engine light came on due to a P0442 code for small EVAP leaks. I researched this code and found that when there is no problem filling a gas tank with a permanent vapor barrier, in most cases the culprit is the gas cap. (Note: if you're having trouble filling the tank, it's most likely the exhaust valve.) I always tighten my cap three clicks to keep it from dangling. The rubber seal looked ok too, but I think after 113,000 miles it stopped sealing properly. I replaced the cap and used an OBDII scanner to clear the code. FYI - it took almost 500 miles and a week of driving to check all the vehicle monitors and set the status to 'ready'. You can pick up the Autel MaxiScan MS300 CAN OBDII Vehicle Scanner Diagnostic Scanner for less than $20 from Revain and it's worth its weight in gold. I was able to test the monitors and the Evap monitor was the last to be tested. A week after I replaced the cap, the Evap Monitor finally ran a test and set the status to Ready with NO CODES. That means the lid was the culprit. That coverage at the dealer would definitely cost more and I would pay a $95 diagnostic fee on top of that part.
