Finally found the right gas cap for my 2004 GMC Sierra Denali QS. This is not a "thread" type cap but, for lack of a better term, a "click" type cap. Within 10 miles of installation my check engine light went out and there were no more "Tighten gas cap" messages or CEL codes. Note: The previous (fake) gas cap was also purchased from Revain and the fitting instructions claimed it would work. So please be careful before ordering.

Pros
  • Handy
Cons
  • Can be retrofitted

Perfect fit for 2006 Z71 Tahoe

The product description said this cover would fit my Tahoe but I couldn't find any question or review to confirm this. The picture in the product description is not very good. This cap is not a standard threaded cap. This is a cap with a triangle pattern on the side. This cover fits my 2006 Z71 Tahoe perfectly. The attached cable with a T-end connector fits into the hole in the gas connection box. It doesn't have a factory plastic rivet, but it attaches well and the cable never came out. Myโ€ฆ

Take care of your old gas cap!

Works perfectly. If you don't know what fuel cap you need, don't work on your own car! To further assist those of you who may need a little help and are reasonably able to drive your own car, I will point out the obvious differences between the two types of gas caps. This GT330 gas cap has two triangular notches on the gas cap that snap into the filler neck. The old style gas cap had 2 threads on the gas cap that screwed into the filler neck. If you can compare them, if not, look at theโ€ฆ

Cap fits but cable doesn't

Cap fits perfectly but plastic retaining cable doesn't fit. The cable was too long and got in the way when unscrewing the cap. And at the other end of the plastic cable, a tee is cast, which must be inserted into the hole immediately behind the fuel outlet. The tee is too small for the hole, and the cable falls out every fourth or fifth fill, and the cap falls to the ground, inevitably rolling under the car. What is this design? My original had a "screw eye" at the end of the cable that wasโ€ฆ

Perfect solution to my code P0442 with engine gauge on

I bought this OE gas cap for my 08 Yukon Denali. My check engine light came on due to a P0442 code for small EVAP leaks. I researched this code and found that when there is no problem filling a gas tank with a permanent vapor barrier, in most cases the culprit is the gas cap. (Note: if you're having trouble filling the tank, it's most likely the exhaust valve.) I always tighten my cap three clicks to keep it from dangling. The rubber seal looked ok too, but I think after 113,000 miles itโ€ฆ
