I'm in my 50's and have my great grandmother's small cast iron egg pan, a medium cast iron skillet and a cast iron muffin pan. I inherited them when I was 20 and my father taught me how to season them. I've always wanted a cast iron Dutch oven, but I've never seen one that appealed to me. Fast forward to introduction, and I've recently been on the hunt for a cast iron brazier, ultimately due to my recent obsession with making old school sourdough bread, which is baked in a very hot cast iron brazier. Well I bought this one and it's perfect! Speaking as an older person who knows what real cast iron is, here it is! I didn't use it until I had seasoned it myself in a 250°F oven overnight and generously coated it with organic avocado oil due to avocado oil's very high heat resistance. The pan is absolutely awesome. Pretty to look at. And totally resistant to sticks making my bread. I used to use parchment paper in my stainless steel roaster to keep the bread from sticking, but I don't need it in this one. I am very happy with my purchase. I would buy more!
