I bought this sand because it contrasts nicely with the red rocks in my naturalistic terrarium. It's certainly visually stunning, but it has a few functional issues: - It can get very dusty. Cleaning linens is no fun task. The black pigment transferred to my bearded dragon coloring her paws and tail. I ended up moving him to another aviary with no substrate and he shed a couple of times but he still had black pigments. There is always a risk of crushing with this substrate, so I ended up moving my bearded dragon to a substrate-free environment. In general, this can make your terrarium beautiful, but it may not be the best for your pet.
