pretty good but quirky; selects Heartbeat from Google

For the price and features this is a good access point. However, the web interface is a bit clunky; At one point I thought it was buggy because it didn't seem to save the name (SSID) I had specified, so reverted to the software-generated SSID. It turns out I didn't click 'Save' in a place where I expected it to. After I figured it out, things got better. While this supports IPv6 fairly well, another quirk is that the place to enter the NTP server only accepts a hostname or dotted quad, not a numeric IPv6 address (e.g. 2001:db8:2010:4716: :beef). The factory settings are pretty good so while it's very flexible you don't have to fiddle around too much as the defaults are fine for most people and you can tweak the defaults. For example, it's fairly easy to set up a guest network on your own VLAN. While this allows you to enable TLS, I couldn't find a way to download the certificate without having to add a certificate validation exception. to your browser. Remember that depending on your level of comfort with Google, the operating system determines the state of its network by sending pings and "ping-6" to the Google Public DNS ("GPDNS") servers (8.8. 8.8 or 2001 ) sends. :4860:4860::8888) and try to get http://google.com. I tried disabling the firewall but as a result the hotspot started flashing a red LED. You must allow at least ICMP or ICMPv6 for GPDNS (e.g. 2001:4860:4860::8800/120) to avoid this warning. If there's a way to disable this test, it's not obvious. It would also render that access point unusable for a normal network that is not exposed to the internet.
