I installed this finger print door lock in the garage door that enters the house, because I always walk in to the garage and lock my self in (the door swings shut on its own). So after being locked in my garage probably 20-30 times in the last 7 years I decided to install this devices. It works great. I found easy to install even though I had to drill an extra hole in my door. The devices user interface could be better but it gets the job done, I don't worry about locking myself in the garage any more. And the kids lover using their finger print to open the door. As far as safety it looks and feels very durable. You also get a key just in case, it runs on battery. We haven't had any battery issues.
