I really like the fit of this helmet. Most descriptions from bicycle helmet manufacturers do not take the shape of the rider's head into account. I've found that most of them are designed for a round head shape and an intermediate oval at best. Describing the shape of a head and making a helmet out of it is a common practice for motorcycle helmet manufacturers. In motorcycle helmets I have what is known as a long oval head. The hat size I wear is 7 5/8 to 7 3/4. I am approx. 61.5 cm tall, due to my oval head shape, most L/XL bicycle helmets with a maximum size of 62/63 cm sit sideways high over my head. My head is not fully protected by the helmet. If I put on the helmet with the chin strap tightened, I get a normal burn on my forehead within an hour of riding. This helmet fits great out of the box. The wheel adjustment mechanism on the back of the helmet allows you to set it for your exact comfort and fit both ways (front-to-back and side-to-side). I tried many L/XL helmets in stores before taking a chance with this one. one based on comments from other reviewers. It is not only suitable for "big heads", but also for people with a long or narrow oval head shape.
