WILL NOT WORK ON OUTSIDE FRONT DOORS WITH NO SPACE

I ordered this to stop my landlord from entering my house during the coronavirus because the police didn't and there were no ships. It was the most expensive of my options and looked heavy but had to wait so after reading the reviews I ordered the Addalock as well. It came right away and was easy to install. I got this and decided to use it as extra protection and it doesn't fit. I'm trying to use it on a door from the outside. (the door to the basement, the same as the front or back door). There's room under the door because I get water and bugs, but there's not enough room on the front doors of the house for that.
