This chuck was purchased to allow the use of drill bits smaller than 1/16 inch (approx. 1.59 mm). My normal drill chuck will not grip these small diameter drill bits. My first use of the chuck was to drill holes with a 1.2mm (about 3/64 inch) drill bit. The drill "pivoted" about 10-15% off center despite being correctly centered in the collets of the chuck. Also, the collets seem to "get stuck" in the closed position when the chuck is loosened to extract the bit. I have to tap on the collets to open them when the bits are removed. I have no experience with cartridges gripping small diameter parts, but this one is just a 50/50 solution.
