So I start with the bad and move on to the good to end with a bang. weird *beep* and then my screen would have all these colored lines all over the screen. I don't even know how to explain it. So I opened the back of my laptop, took out the new $80 RAM and put the old one in. Then it started without any problems. I went and looked what the problem could be. After being at a loss I looked to see what updates could be done and noticed that I had a software update. So I waited about 30 minutes for this long download to finish. When it ended, I made sure everything was running smoothly and made sure nothing was running before safely shutting down my MacBook again. old RAM 8GB 1333Hz. I made sure I installed the new 16GB 1333Hz RAM correctly in the slots provided. After checking everything, I flipped the MacBook back and turned it on with crossed thumbs that I had no problems. It looked promising when he asked me for my password, and then I eagerly waited for the little grey-black bar to go all the way through. It happened once. . . YES, it worked! I think the problems could be: 1.) When my computer was first turned off, it shut down due to low battery and wouldn't turn off properly. So there was still data on the old RAM 2.) I didn't put the RAM all the way into the slots the first time around 3.) Black magic. . . In conclusion, I would recommend this product to people who need more RAM and are willing to spend a little time doing it themselves rather than paying people to do it at the Apple Store.
