Although the product works well, I only received it today. It comes with a battery and two mounting screws. The screws are very bad, the heads break off even when using a new Phillips or flathead screwdriver. If you're having trouble getting this thing to work, let me offer some help after you put the battery in (yay!) (1). Press and hold the black button for 5 seconds to restart the device. (2) Then press * and # simultaneously (at the same time). (3) The keyboard backlight turns red, then press 1 followed by #. (4) 1 followed by # means the first channel on the device, alternatively you can press 2 followed by #. There are two channels for two PIN codes on this device as some garages have two separate doors with two separate motors. You can program the first motor for one code and the second motor for a different code. (5) Having previously pressed 1 then #, press 01# (0, 1, 1 then #) if your garage door opener is linear. 02# if it is a Chamberlain with a red or orange learn button. 03# if it's a Chamberlain with a purple learn button. 04# if it is a Chamberlain with a green learn button. 05# if it is a 1995 Genie 315MHz model. 06# if it is a 2005 Genie 390MHz model. 07# if it's Stanley. 08# if it is a Chamberlain or Artisan with a yellow learn button. 09# for Wayne Dalton. (6) Then press the learning button on the garage door opener motor! (7) Mine was linear so I pressed 01# and after that you have to press 1111# (one after the other) if you want to program the first channel. If you want to program the second channel on the device, please press 2222#. (Note: This is the IMPORTANT part, it's not explained well in the manual! This got me confused!) (8) Your garage door motor is now programmed to open when you press 1111# (when you program the first channel to have). or 2222# (if you programmed the 2nd channel). (9) Check if the door opens when you press 1111# (or 2222# if you programmed the 2nd channel) (10) If you see 1111# or 2222# opening and closing the garage door, Honey, your keyboard is working. So you must NOW enter your personal ACTUAL code or PIN code. (11) To do this, press the * and # keys at the same time and then enter the code of your choice, e.g. e.g. it can be 1234, 3579 or 1436 etc. After the 4-digit pin code or code , press #. You must remember this code. (12) Let's say your pin code is 1234#, you need to press 1234# to open the garage door. (13) If you forgot your PIN, open the battery compartment and press the black button. within 5 seconds to restore the device to factory settings and forget all previous contacts or codes. Restart the process using (1) in this review. I really hope this helps. It's not even nearly as difficult as it seems. If you got it right, you can get it done in 5 minutes or less! Much luck.
